Not grey anywhere. I like it the way it is but if you hate it then the black wood grain is an option - not sure it will make enough of a difference for the cost. Will you live there for a while before you make any changes?

Agree, live with it for awhile.. I think it’s gorgeous, but if you don’t like it , get a kitchen company in to give you some ideas

Not grey….your kitchen is really classy ….looks like a greyish counter top already. I would look at adding timber look doors if you can’t live with the black. Find a timber laminate that is similar to your beautiful floors. Again if you can’t live with the splashback, replace with a textured tile with black accents.

That’s helpful… the benches are actually black stone (not grey - the sun shining through the window onto the bench and cabinets is blinding at a few times throughout the day) so hoping go a bit lighter with the splashback. Maybe a grey tile and then the timber look cabinets. Or white tiles like this?

Yes the stronger timber colour with white tiles is my choice from the photos you have posted. The other photo inspirations just, in my opinion, would not look good with the current colours in your kitchen.

I agree with dreamer that the other options wouldn’t really work. The darker timber with the white tiles looks good, but have you considered just changing your overhead cupboard doors to white? Would really lighten up the space and never dates.

@wendyec I have thought about it but worried the contrast would be too stark, and then not sure what colour to do the splashback. The whole kitchen is shiny so I’m keen for the splashback and upper cabinets to be a Matt finish. Consensus seems to be ‘not grey’ which helps, so might match the timber to our floors and do a white splashback.

I’m also in the ‘not grey’ camp. If you really don’t like the current colour, I’d agree a timber similar to your floors would look great. As for your backsplash, I’d wait to see the effect of the new cabinet doors before changing them. I’d also speak to a lighting expert about possible options to reduce glare and refraction. Something as simple as changing my light globes made quite a difference in my own kitchen

Hi Tanya, What about replacing the top doors with white doors? That would make a big difference to the light and not compromise the colours and sophistication of the room? Cheers Margot
