Help! Which colours go with these bathroom tiles?
Comments (78)That is a hard one with those tiles. I would have to think if you did a white, it would kind of work with the colour of your tiles. At the end of the day, they do need to be replaces, but as you said, due to budgeting reasons, you cannot, I can pass on this photo of a nice bathroom with those tiles for you though for inspiration... : )...See MorePoll: Please help, which type of flooring do you prefer?
Comments (8)Price check everything before deciding. Many people take too much advice from salespeople who want to sell you just what they have. A solid timber flooring isn't really that much more than a timber floating floor. I've found the cost difference is having the solid floor sanded and polished, oiled, etc. only. There is some quite expensive floating floor options and some really cheap ones. Buyer beware!...See MoreEnsuite design help please! Tile dilemma
Comments (22)Kate, are you able to post a picture of the internal bathroom that you say is too sterile. I also am having an internal bathroom and trying to decide tile heights. I have been given two different sets of advice on what to do. Feature tile is above a vanity with a round mirror skewed To left of vanity. My bathroom is only 1.55m deep. Tiles will be vertically stacked on feature wall using vanilla Brickart tile. Tile shop says to take feature tile to wall height of 2.7m and wrap it around walls just section where vanity is and then wall height in shower and no other tiles on wall. Tiger says to ceiling will be too much. Feature tile is creamy pale grey above timber vanity. It is always easier to decide what looks good for someone else as compared to self....See MorePlease help me: which type of tiling style / drop in bath is this?
Comments (4)You will need a bath with three or four tile flanges to match the one in the first photo. It has to do with complying with the building regulations for waterproofing and protecting the timber framing that is under the tiles. If the edge of the bath where it meets the tiles is not properly protected from water seeping through then concealed wet rot could start, and eventually everything will need to be ripped out, and built again. Sometimes even the timber floor joists under the bath rot out and need to be replaced. So I would do your research and co-ordinate carefully with your builder to ensure that the details are correctly built. Some builders will not go to the trouble of getting it right as they don't care if your bath falls through a rotten floor in ten years time. Quite often your choices in the bathroom should also take into account the long term functionality of the bathroom, rather than just the aesthetics.
