FINALLY after too long, have completed one of the upper cedar wall replacements (& the most needed)... still debating colours. Altho I was set on the cedarshield natural cedar oil product, everyone is pushing paint due to longevity... because we missmatched old with new boards on verandah section, don’t think cedarshield would bring out same colour evenly unless a lot of time trying to ‘clean’ the old boards top layer. SO, back to colours. Thoughts? Light and beachy/modern is attractive but don’t think it’d suit the simple timber cottage look it has had for so long. Thinking dark trim with lighter weatherboards?

are the new sliding glass doors double glazed? are the original windows single glazed or in need of replacing for any other reason? do you hate the beige colour? how many of the old windows can be seen at the same time as the new doors? ... inside looking out is the most important view for me but what do you like the look of?

@dreamer yes I was thinking a simple timber balustrade would look better than a more modern one. we are planing on putting a covered deck off the back with a similar balustrade too. @fianou Luca I love fixed upper. They were the reason we bought this house as I could see the potential. it is much harder than it looks go bring a look all together. I was contemplating painting the brick lighter like a wash but to scared to vomit incase it looks terrible and it is an expensive job to do. I was even thinking of putting shutters on the windows downstairs to give the front some texture

I quite like it as it is. I assume the will be a fence to the north of office to create yard where clothesline is. Your frontage is really all garage given the court bowl limitation. Dark as shown on the eastern side which is mainly garage shouldn’t be a problem and help recess the garage. You will need to landscape to guide and entice people to find your front door as it won’t be visible from street. I would prob have a gated entry for security.
