A round or narrow oval table and more light weight chair style or banquet seating on the timber wall side would free up a little more space on the open side. Would you consider changing the half wall for a glass one i.e. balustrade style?

Can anyone tell me what the actual difference is between a "living" room and a "family" room? Also is a "lounge" room just another name for either one of the above? Thanks

Also.... is this for a low set or 2 storey house? Sorry for all the questions but it all helps to make more specific suggestions for you.
