That artwork is fabulous. I think it really suits the room actually - just a few tiny accents of colour around the room and it will be very very nice. I love the cushion suggestions in the above by asquithoatley. Some low, small cement candle bowls with a touch of painted colour could do the trick to tie the artwork to the coffee table.. and a dash of colour or white on the table would do nicely. The table and the artwork really hit it off in this room nicely.

Hi Kris, I currently have a painting that highlights the green and warm greys that are in your room. I think it would go nicely and complement the stone feel of the lamps too! Alternatively if you like the harder finish you could go for a bold black and minimalist white line work piece with a muted toned feature colour. @newgardener, It's quite a shame that the AC was placed so low on the wall, it would be so hard to sit under it when on, you would get a stiff neck from the cold in no time. It should have been right up below the cornice, then artwork would be simple. If it were me, I'd have it moved up, repair the move and you have your wall back, not particularly an expensive job just a bit messy.

If you have a small powder room, then you don't need art work. Don't just hang art on the wall as you have a blank wall - negative space in a small room is a positive. I would consider a decorative mirror with bevelled edges to provide some visual interest, to make the space seem bigger, and which has a function. Consider wall lights to complemement the mirror, and don't go with the plain jane mirror option that most builders offer as standard. Best of luck, Dr Retro of Dr Retro House Calls
