I suspect the easiest and most efficient way is to get a custom table built to accommodate your bench seating. I would use chairs that could be moved away from the table when not eating which would add to your counter space as well. I'm not sure about wheels on a table that will have so much traffic around it because it could cause an accident if someone leans against it not expecting it to move. I can also see youngsters getting into a game of push/pull with the table at the most inopportune moment. :D

Suggested spacing is between 600-800mm from edge of table - so that chairs remain in the rug when being used/pulled out to use. Sorry Haley but hard to adivse without a photo. It's normally a big no-no to have a rug under a table that doesn't accomodate the chairs as well. Better to have nothing. If you have a round rug, you have to put the table in the centre of it. If you have a larger rectangular rug then you can off-set the table.
