How many of us actually recycle?
Comments (13)@denanddale, I think bottling is a perfectly OK thing to do, as long as you put it in the non-recycling. That's a great idea too as it is kept confined, as forfieting one bottle for the task, is certainly not going to change the world, when you see the rubbish that still makes it into waterways in third world countries, where there is absolutely no recycling, let alone any regard for the environment. Just a thought, if you're worried about your toddler and would like to discard the oil naturally if possible, you could simply dig a hole, perhaps 30cm, a few shovels full of dirt and bury the oil and it should be safe enough not to found and cause a mess with bubs. Just a suggestion....See MoreUpgrading an existing oregan wood kitchen
Comments (1)Consider changing the bench tops to a warm white/beige colour. It does still look nice with dark though so maybe a newer pattern but in the charcoal. Take down your overheads next to the rangehood and add some open shelves for an easy open and more contemporary feel. You can keep your overheads stored if you ever felt the need to put them back up down the track. When you swap out the granite take down the upstand behind the sink to open up the space and extend the width slightly to allow an extra space for bar seating. I see your dining table is close by, just check if you can nudge it further forward to accommodate this idea. Pendant lights over the new sink/bench space will help define the area further for "zoning"...See MoreMy new kitchen make over, done by Oska kitchens & Joinery
Comments (17)@mazpt, yes of course. Here are a few more pictures showing how kitchen, living and dining, and outdoor deck and bbq area flow together. Oska kitchen is really neat in detailing; wood grain on the doors for example, are matched across as many doors as long as a 2.4m sheet allow. Floor turned out very nice too. Light natural colour, wide and long boards, laid length way all the way from front door to the back makes the space looks a bit bigger. Although it is still a floating floor, there are minimal floor movement that make squeak sound, most of the floor are feels solid. I hope that floor squeaking noise will settle over time....See MoreKitchen Renovation
