What colour Blue would work best?
Comments (11)Thank you to all for the wonderful feedback. I didn't intend to paint the walls blue rather a taupe/brown - the De Sousa home is a great example. Since publishing the photo and the question - I have viewed many fabrics in many shades of blue and came to the conclusion blue is probably not the right choice. The photo looks beautiful but have moved to silver/grey with plum purple walls. But keeping the padded bedhead with demi lune side tables, an occasional chair in far corner and I already have the perfect bedside crystal tired lamp bases already. Again, could go very wrong with purple but I think I've found the perfect colour here in Australia. There are some stunning fabrics available in the silver/grey tone and I think it would well in the bedroom. The starting point funnily enough in moving to silver/grey was stumbling across the most gorgeous drape fabric. Then I built the rest from there. Now it's down to making final selections. A frustrating but fun process. Can't wait to see end result. Fingers crossed it all works out! Thank you once again - this site is amazing and your feedback is most helpful....See MoreHelp: brown carpet, brown furniture
Comments (28)Talking doona covers and accessories. I buy mine from Ezibuy, they can have some lovely creams, although at present they are into blue, yellow and mauve and Spotlight also have some beautiful sets which like ezibuy, almost always include euro cushions, a must I think, and also some pretty throw cushions. I have attached the two photo's below that I have recently purchased for both the spare room and master bedroom. The first photo is from Spotlight called the Belmondo Regal Princess and the second is called Dream Weaver from ezibuy. I have the throw too....See MoreI need help with a bedroom makeover
Comments (13)Hi deewb, I really like the inspiration images and cushion options you have selected. I am a big fan of Sarah Richardson's designs myself and love the idea of mixing beautiful patterns together. If you are interested I work with creating high quality photorealistic 3D Renders for residential homes and am happy to help you out with your bedroom makeover. I can create 3D visualisations of your room and we can try as many different cushions and furniture items as you like and this will give you a realistic view of what your room will look like fully furnished. We can incorporate existing furniture as well as add new items from stores you like. Let me know if you might be interested. Comments (5)Hi Julie/Tim, there are various off the shelf choices, usually plain fabric, standard designs and sizes (around the 1800-1900mm width). As with as with just about anything, a larger budget opens up more options especially choosing custom designed and made, over off the shelf. A fully custom bed headboard opens up many options - vast choice of fabric, shape and sizes, designed for the space (eg taking account of proportions, working around fixtures etc), decorative trims and finishes and probably better quality construction and materials (including what is underneath the fabric). This is where as a professional I would take a client’s space & requirements to narrow these dazzling array of options down to a specification that meets the brief. All the best, Louise - Decoro Custom Interiors...See MoreLouieT
