Yes, but are you using the gap where rangehood was to centre, or the centre of the cook top. If you have cabinetry along the wall then you can hide the fact that the extractor fan/rangehood is not centre of the cook top. Or that is how it appears in your photos.

there's two separate things needed here..a roof building company should be able to add the simple awnings with frame, guttering and roof cladding finished and then a handyperson or carpenter can line the eaves with timber, add the decorative trims and paint but i'd start with locating a suitable trim to see if that needs to be custom made (should be a piece of timber and some patience with a jigsaw) but check Aust building trims on line to see if you can find a suitable trim ready made

Hello 61karwin, I do not have a range hood just an exhaust fan. I do not do much in the way of frying, I am however rather good at 'carbon' but find with a good breeze thru from open windows that it is no problem. The fan does need cleaning every now and then but I get a tall person to assist: a young one who is happy to get onto the bench! I do not see a problem unless your home is not well vented and you like cooking hot chips! Cheers Margot

Any range hood extractor fan would be suitable. It depends on the aesthetics of your kitchen, and your budget as to which style would suit the best. Have you thought about a down draft extractor fan?
