Wall Art for bedroom?
Comments (21)Hi Kris, I currently have a painting that highlights the green and warm greys that are in your room. I think it would go nicely and complement the stone feel of the lamps too! Alternatively if you like the harder finish you could go for a bold black and minimalist white line work piece with a muted toned feature colour. Hope that helps :) The attached painting is available at www.janamcleod.com (under $100) - OR if you have some freedom in the budget you can pick the price on commissioned artworks. - Just go to commission section of webpage for more detail....See MoreFloorplan advice for bedrooms please
Comments (14)As usual, this is about balancing out priorities.........really need more info/detail on overall context/limits in regards to how much play we have, but possibly you could consider flipping around like this: This would achieve more robe length - but achieving 3x equal set-ups can be challenging and it comes down to how much flexibility you have one way or the other and working out where the priorities settle/fall.......the entrance point into bedroom 3 is currently limited by the void and whether this is a critical feature or not is not clear........of course a single central bathroom would be easy done but that's not what you want, and ultimately you should be clear/confident in regards to requirements/how you wish your family to live and as a designer I'll never judge people's specific requirements/needs but rather assist in resolving a solution for what is wanted......but invariably it involves equally working out where the inevitable compromises are best made and the trick is to consolidate the compromises to the lower priority aspects,,,,,,,for example here, what is going to win/override the other? Is it going to be the Void? Or consider conceding the void detail to achieve a more balanced/even bedroom set-up working as desired? Not right and wrong stuff here, more about what is best suited to you, but bear in mind that there is no such thing as "perfect", ever, regardless of budget or context...However if we are able to successfully manoeuvre to achieve the higher priorities at expense of some of the lower, then generally people will be significantly more satisfied with the end result......hope this helps..good luck :) PD...See MoreWhich wallpaper for my master bedroom?
Comments (19)The problem is that we have no idea of the rest of your house , whether it is ultra-modern or classical or colourful or eclectic or . . . . . . . With the limited info , personally I'd go for a burgundy and ( narrower ) gold striped wallpaper , or possibly cream and bright sunshine yellow stripes , but then everyone is different . I wouldn't go with anything 'organic' looking , including grass or flax looks , fake timber or any wallpaper along those veins . The grid wall idea isn't a favourite either , but depending on ceiling height , how about doing the lower 1/2 to 2/3rds of the wall like that , then vertical striped wallpaper above that ? Breaks it and makes even more of a feature IMO ....See MoreTeen boho bedroom advice
Comments (20)Nothing wrong with the bed, but of course it may have been better in cranberry or teal for a boho look. However there are things you can do, yes even with a dark grey buttonback bedhead. Some of those things are scary and some less so. Depends on what boho style she likes. There is the colourful kind..... and the far more boring naturals kind. 1. You can paint fabric. You can in fact buy car upholstery recolouring spray for this exact purpose. Say goodbye to grey, say hello to cranberry. It will change the feel of the fabric by making it stiffer. But since it's on a bedhead and not say a lounge chair it's very likely to last and not look rubbish once it wears. Bear in mind you won't be able to make the bedhead lighter this way. There is also the option to paint it with acrylic wall paint. You will have more latitude to change the colour since it's solid but it will also take on a stiff and somewhat waxy look and feel resembling leather. 2. buy a morrocan or some kind of intricate pendant for the room. 3. Choose patterned cushions not plain. a trellis design, a velvet, a paisley will all work well., Focus on colour palettes involving orange, fuschia, teal, cranberry, turquoise or pastel versions of that. 4 The side table lamp is fine. You might want to paint or wallpaper the bedside table however. 5. You need voile curtains and a velvet or silk-look-a-like drape. Voile is also excellent to make a bed canopy for a very dreamy and aircon friendly look. One of those oversized mosquito nets above the bed does the trick for $20 and you can even string a set of fairly lights in it for an ethereal look. 6. Get a patterned rug. One of those faded and distressed persian styles is perfect....See MoreBC Magic Wallpaper
