We agree that selecting a colour to blend in with the cabinets will look best. Perhaps if you had a grey or timber look laminate then selecting a more bold shade may be a better option. Blending the cabinets to the walls is a very contemporary look and will bring the entire space together - as opposed to making the cabinetry work stand out harshly.

A lot depends on the layout of your kitchen, but like sttop said, if you have any walls of cabinets, it will look better to keep the walls the same colour. You don't say what you are using for your bench top or splashback, but I think keeping the walls the same colour as the cabinets gives you a lot of choice. I did my kitchen in a soft yellow specifically to match the yellow walls I had in adjoining rooms and also because of having a wall of cupboards, it kept everything flowing better. Then I just did a plain white Laminex bench top which left me free to make the splashback a feature to lift the room.

I happen to have a sample of the Natural white, it looks a good colour to use through the house irrespective of lighting and aspect. I've tried white/whites in rooms in the past that have just not worked because of the lighting and aspect in the room.
