Hi Patricia, If you intend to keep the teak and the existing carpets then a soft grey can look AMAZING as a base for your palette. I love Dulux "truffle" as it takes on the beige and the gray and changes depending on the lighting at the time of day. Once you have decided on your base colour you can choose two or three tones of another colour to layer and accent each room (same or different). The colours you select should reflect the feel you want to achieve, size and light in the room and of course things that you love!! It could be worth engaging a colour consultant if you intend to do the whole house as you don't want to get it wrong! I would look through the many images on this app under a heading like "cathedral ceilings " and find a picture or two that you like the feel of , then follow that design... The feel of the earthy wood ceiling and a stark painted white one is miles apart... Only you are going to know which one feels right for you.. For me I would keep the ceiling and floors wood , render the inside brick and then decorate... I love an earthy feel.. There is also real stone cladding you could cover brick with. Have fun :)

i should have mentioned we are having a spotted gum breakfast bar attached to the island bench. (see picture for example) we want to room to feel warm and cosy, have thought these colours would best offset the concrete floor. The room will have lots of natural light.
