Bathroom floor tiles -high gloss porcelain?
Comments (18)I'm sure there are plenty of people that have somehow slipped but I suspect it would more likely be if someone was walking in the bathroom with socks on but whatever the reason, it has been considered for years that high gloss tiles are dangerous in what is called a wet area but I can't disagree with you that a mat is all that is needed to stop from slipping with wet feet but of course people have slipped in the bathtub too because it's so slippery so the jury might still be out as to how to make a bathroom totally safe. I think it's just a suggestion based on some kind of trials and my theory is more hand rails where possible....See MoreSplashback? 3mm thick porcelain tile slabs
Comments (6)I ended up using Lea Ceramiche Slim Tech porcelain panels from the Baltic stone range. My husband (a bold DIYer) decided to use the angle grinder to cut it himself. It was all good until he glued it on and pressed it sightly to make it adhere. There was a small crack. I could have cried! We decided it was barely noticeable (a hairline crack) so we have left it and it looks superb. No grout lines, easy to clean and so modern looking. We also used it on the face of the island (in front of the bar stools). We are SO happy with it. It cost roughly $450 (aud) a panel but a panel is 3 metres long x 1 m high x 3mm thick. I highly recommend these for an alternative to glass or tiles. :)...See MoreHow to effectively clean polished high gloss porcelain tiles.
Comments (3)After trying numerous products to remove the tough stains and debris from the tiles, I was almost hopeless and planning to buy new tiles for our home. Just then, my friend suggested me to try the professional cleaning services for my tiles. After searching for weeks over the internet, I get to know about Marks Tile And Grout Cleaning and after contacting them for the services, my tiles are as great as new and have retained their shine that was diminished with time. Personally, I find this company extremely reliable and efficient. I would love to recommend this company for all those who are looking to replace the tile due to their dullness. Try them to retain the shine of your tiles, you won’ be disappointed....See MoreMatte wood look porcelain tiles vs high gloss wood look porcelain tile
Comments (10)Hi there, tiles on the floor of a bedroom? It sounds a bit cold underfoot unless you are having underfloor heating installed, but then perhaps you are renovating in warmer climes than where I live! I would recommend going for a matte or satin finish in the bedroom as the gloss could look a little sterile.also If you have a connecting ensuite, you wouldnt want to run the risk of slipping on the floor if you have wet feet :o...See MoreAmanda Johnstone
