In addition to wall sconces and down lights the homeowner ran some Christmas lights around the porch ceiling perimeter using all white bulbs. There's also two exterior wall lights framing the porch entry and step lights in the stair risers.
This project is within the registered Historic District of Maywood, VA. There were very strict rules governing design, use of materials, detailing, etc. The porch had to maintain traditional materials and details similar to that of the period the house was originally built. The decking was T&G pine flooring and the rails were made from traditional wood railing stock parts for balusters, handrails and bottom rails.
