A nice welcome is to put a round pedestal table 120cm alone in the centre with a couple of dining chairs either side of the hall table if they fit - otherwise just one that you can bring over to the table when need be. Alternately, or also, you could put a couple of 'x' shaped cowhide stools behind the couch to bring to the table. The table becomes a servery for parties or somewhere for occasional work or games table etc. It is important to keep the table clear with maybe fresh flowers or a plant at all other times as it is your entry. Also, do not add anything - like chairs - to the back wall as it would give a cluttered look. Best wishes.

I agree it looks like mould and bleach is not the solution. I use white vinegar as the hungry mould-spores drink it up and then explode with it - dead. You may have to go through the task of removing the silicon again, treating the mould, leaving to dry (not using shower for a while) re-treating the mould, allowing to thoroughly dry again, then re-apply a mould-retardant silicon. Thanks all for the comments! I have styled the rest of the house to a T but the master always seems to take a back seat when life gets too busy after the initial moving in stage. I have removed the wedding photos (actually, they're only there because my hubby is away for many months and I like to be reminded of him) - but, I agree - they don't suit! We have bedsides that match the bed but this space is too narrow for them to fit in, so the current ones are a stop gap while we wait and see if hubby's work is going to move us elsewhere next year or not. If we are staying, new bedsides or bedroom suite are the on the agenda. Based on tips here, I've turned the doona over for a simple white with navy dots pattern, removed the wedding pics, and simply put my woven wreath on one of the hooks, with the other hook to be filled when I find something. Either that, or I'll find one large b&w print and put the wreath on the side wall. Thanks again for the helpful suggestions! (black wire?) shelf on the empty wall will will hold more, drain better and be cleaner than soap build up in the niche ...btw is there enough space to have the toilet next to the vanity and have the shower wall to wall with the taps on the end wall and niche or shelves in place of the "white box"?
