Comments (39)Update above - this is what we have done so far. We decided to not paint Hog Bristle but paint ceilings Vivid White and walls in Haymes Organic 3. We felt it would be too stark in just Vivid White. Organic 3 is a nice light linen colour. After living in the house for a few weeks we have decided to keep the floors as they are. Wished we could have afforded to put in longer skylights - the room is facing south so no direct sun. The skylights have made a huge difference though - thanks to Gary at VSKY skylights (Gary is installing the skylights on 2017 The Block) he did an excellent job. We also installed bifold doors to the patio area as the previous owners dog had chewed and scratched the cedar ones to death and they had to go! Comments (12)metal posts can be bolted to the concrete floor with a metal bracket called a "stirrup" there's a brand called Uni-pier with multiple sizes available at the major hardware stores and then attach sections of plastic lattice (friendlier for attaching plants) ...make sure the posts are installed at standard distances to suit the size of the panels..eg four panels 1200 wide x 2400 tall installed between 5 posts would allow for a wide doorway at one end or two panels could be installed horizontally between three posts with gaps at the top and bottom with a line of big oblong shaped pots for climbing plants and wall hung pots could be attached to the lattice...See MoreNeed help on colours etc
Comments (12)Perhaps a dark paint on the lower band of brickwork to anchor the house and tie in the dark window frames and door. Can make a big visual difference and if you use a good quality paint is easy and not that expensive. Lasts really well as the brick is rough. Woodland grey would anchor and blend and has a recessive effect as well. Monument is probably too dark. Scrub or power wash the grey drive to bring it back up if possible. Also agree with others about a darker green to tie down the railings lower trim and posts....See Morebigreader
