Since you do not have much money you will need to do some DIY. Moving the toilet, sink and washer is out of the question. Remove the shelf and make a hamper/ bookshelf for storage. Would be nice if you had doors at the top to hide everything. Should be only 16 inches at the bottom and top half should be 12 inches deep. The window I would frame two pieces of plexiglass with a semi-transparent design and mount it on the window ledge like sliding closet doors. Between the sink and toilet same plexi but all the way to the ceiling. Hopefully out of 2x2 if there is enough room. For the sink I would make a wood cover with cut out for the faucet to get a little counter space when not using the sink. Also paint one wall a different color for effect. Take the towel off the washer and add some shelving.

Have you heard of quartz carpet? It is a composite of quartz aggregate and resin, uv resistant no fade, soft underfoot, seamless indoors or outdoor use and can be installed over existing concrete floor, ply etc so evening a miss matched floor is easy. Mid century have some stunning leftovers like large elongated space, timber detailing and panelling and innovative material application for their time. When we restore them today often in respect to them we more often upgrade these innovAtions while still feeling at home. if the budget allows for it, porcelain tiles are my recommendation. They look better, have smaller grout lines, can get them to look like any modern stone, like marble, granite, travertine or even available in wood look slats. My hot tip is the less grout the better, which means the smaller the tile the more grout lines, stay away from mosaic on the floor, I've seen too often these being ripped out because the grout dates and ages from soap scum etc. After seeing grey, black and various colours on floors, I would always go with white on the floor, easy to keep clean and no fading of the tile profile. For me, it would be colour. Maybe a feature wall for walls around dining, or living, pick colour from your favoured painting, and use same and other colours from pictures for cushions or even some occasional furniture in the brightest colour - I saw this done beautifully in a tarted up house for display - a small seat/coffee table painted and upholstered in an orange mix, which was taken from the splashback (everything else was neutral) and also in a throw for lounge.
