Not sure where you are located - but there is a professional company that does this type of work called window revival here on the Gold Coast - might be worth a call to them and see if they know anyone in your local area Dont be too harsh on your old aluminium look windows - they are clear anodised windows and one of the best finishes you can have for a long last window - long after your paint has faded the CAA windows will still look good To clean them and make them look shiny and new again - a bit of elbow grease and a thing called a rubbing block - you should be able to purchase this through a local glazing company - it is an abrasive rubber block than will luster up the aluminium like it was new - be kind to anodised windows - they are not an ugly duckling

Get yourself some fine grit sandpaper or a sanding block. Go over it all litly to remove enough varnish for paint to stick. Get a small foam roller and tray fill with gloss balck paint you selected, and first brush all the edges of the drawers. Remove all drawers doing the frame first, then the drawers themselves. Then roll the flat surfaces, sides and top of the frame unit, then the faces of your drawers. I would dry it overnight. On the second day, if there's any runs or thick areas, which is unlikely f you roll AFTER you brush. But if so, again use your sanding block lightly over the entire face surface of the problem area. Apply second coat, then a final if necessary. Dry an entire day before working on it. Perfect your bed is leather, I'm suggesting a leather detail only, not the entire dresser, so it will link in perfectly. You can buy meterage of vinyl look leather at Lincraft or spotlight cheaply. Template the front of each drawer only, not including the bevel edge. Just use a piece of paper and rub the edges to reveal the size of the flat face of each drawer. Use this paper as a template to cut out your vinyl. Lastly. I would use a spray adhesive suitable for vinyl and cloths, follow the instructions and stick to the drawer front. Again dry overnight. The next day finish off by punching through a hole for your handle with either a metal skewer or similar. And if your edges are not neat enough for you, you can also buuy a trim stud, cord etc to glue to the edges. It's not that hard, and can look great, you just need confidence to go for it, and what's to lose. An old set of drawers you're painting anyway! Yu could substitute the leather for wallpaper which would be easier again. Good luck.

just viewed your imagined dilemma - the jade colour of doors - are they a laminate - if they aren't - yes if you desperately need a change - have white laminate (like the whole neighbourhood). but if the jade cupboards are definitely laminated I would not replace - for the jade is stunning. Furthermore, you would make a good move to extend the black high-gloss laminate to those floor-level cupboard doors which currently have a wood strip (which the previous owner did (I presume)I would suggest you have a single black strip definitely 2inches high inserted as a line in that area. (this job must be done by an experienced laminator - to perfection (this will eliminate the eye-sore strips of wood.( but it must be applied as a continuous band (from a to b) - not bits - Furthermore, the high-gloss black floor-boards will look good so close - meeting each other. I NOTE YOU WOULD DO WELL WITH A LARGISH SLEEK KITCHEN SINK ( YOU SEE BY DOING THESE SMALL CHANGES YOU ARE GETTING A WHOW KITCHEN. Am I imagining the green which seems to extend to the ceiling line is not cupboards up there if that is so do not take the green up to the cornice - the cupboards are the feature not the walls - the cornice in that room should be taken out - having the plastered wall reaching the ceiling without cornice. Your kitchen cupboards are the feature.(it would be good to paint upper walls and ceiling. Just "off white" I am reluctant to tell you the kitchen window should be wider as the kitchen has a message but the window is like a poor relative. If you carry-out these changes - the kitchen should be free of everything else - no utensils on the stove, nothing on benches or on top of other areas - the colour and impact - that is all that is needed (plus it has become modernised) - despite your belief that white is in - maybe in hospitals. Bunnings also has some great laminated wooden benchtops in different colours (real wood) that would look great with your new kitchen and would add warmth and would be very cost effective to boot. I dislike laminate. What size is your Island
