No, I do not think the pictured vase would work in this case as , the corner is just behind a minimalist entrance hallway...150wide..X 4mt long ..As you enter the large spacious family room the corner is on the left hand side....the corner wall is only 800cm creating an awkward space it needs something....? Modern, Beautiful and bold, so that you forget that the lounge is sticking out.....the vase is nice maybe too boring for this corner. There is a large wall/window...which will have to accommodate a long lounge.which will l protrude further out than the corner wall so you are almost walking into the line of the lounge suite...I believe a distraction on your left may solve the problem, but what can I put there....A palm in a pot was one idea...but the house is modern and minimalist. . Difficult this one. Need a "wow"....and a headache pill.

I have just sold a house with Calcutta marble. I was so disappointed with it. I thought I was the most careful cook ever and even had beautiful timber boards, like big breadboards, made to cover the island but it still marked. Everything leaves a mark, even a glass of water sitting on the bench leaves a rim mark. I now have Statutory Nuova and I love it. There is no comparison. By the way, it is not just you using the kitchen! Don't forget children, husbands and guests and you can't watch everyone all the time! I only had a fussy husband and guests and still had big problems and it was sealed. Good luck!

Go with your gut Tracy..... it is a big investment but I have found that if it makes you smile every time you walk into your kitchen you'll never regret it!!!! I've recently moved into a smaller downsized home with my 3rd black kitchen, with drawers, no cupboards, except for the pantry which we use as the crockery and wine glasses stash. Mine is matt but no handles = no hip bangers! I chose to use snow white stone bench tops, the walls are painted natural white while the floors are pale oak hybrid vinyl.

Hi Rae, Carrara Marble has a different veining pattern to the Lucent Quartz Artic white that you asked about in an earlier post. In addition to the suggestions made by Dreamer here and by myself earlier with these man made Quartz I.E. Reconstituted Stone versions, there is also a Natural Stone alternative that you may like to consider; this being Quartzite (not to be confused with man made Quartz tops) which in addition to being Natural Stone and having the appearance of Marble, Quartzite is as hard as Granite, is non porous, and is scratch and acid proof; making Quartzite a perfect alternative to Marble for kitchen benchtops. Colours that you may like to check out may include Opus White Quartzite (top image below) or White Princess Quartzite (bottom image below). Hope this information helps, Malcolm.
