It IS worth every penny... but floors?? Its luxurious yes but vertical applications ( backsplash/ wall in the kitchen and bath) have less maintenance. Ialso would prefer to see it on a large island. Atleast upkeep is limited to a small area. Marble floors ARE gorgeous but they can scratch and be slippery when wet.

Thanks for the advice Gioenne and scottevie. I can see the latte colour in the stone but I also see greys and that's what I'm trying to pull out with the splashback. I'm definitely a grey rather than latte person. So I'm going more the greys and grey/blues rather than the browns. I'm hoping to bring a bit of a Hamptons look to the room with some blue accessories. I'm by the water so the blues flow in from outside and I'm hoping also from inside to out. A plain white subway? A pale grey/blue subway? I think I'll have to wait until the stone is in. I'll check out the pressed metal look though! Sounds interesting. Thanks again and any input appreciated!!

Hey there Emma l, lovely deck and pool area you've got happening already! We particularly love that you're using a fully-frameless glass pool fence around your pool, very stylish! Have you considered either a succulent and rock garden (easy to maintain, modern to match your pool space, and can add a mix of shells, driftwood and found sea stones/objects to add to the coastal theme) OR a lovely water feature surrounded by smaller grasses (ie. mondo grass) and sea stones? Can't wait to see what you decide to go with.

A couple of things I'd do -- I'd do a teak mantlepiece , to tie it all in . Either the same thickness as the shelves ( looks 25-30mm ? ) or double that . Also , I think the TV is wall mounted , but I'd go higher -- my opinion is that there should be a 30cm gap between the mantlepiece and the TV , or go 'halfway' so theres approx the same distance from the TV up to the ceiling as there is down to the mantlepiece . Again , just a personal preference , but it's best to be looking up a bit , and have the TV angled slightly , OR have a low TV cabinet and sit the TV on it .
