I would select stationary panels to go between each window and at the ends of the windows and depend on something else for privacy and climate control. Or you could do as JMittman so nicely suggested and use roman shades on each window, mounting them just below the ceiling. Plantation shutters could also be used with stationary panels. You would probably get the best cold weather control with draperies that close over all the windows, but you do not have a lot of space between some of your windows, so you should discuss with your local drapery person how much glass would have to be covered with operable draperies. You have very nice chairs! Take the rug out, remove the two end chairs, paint the table white like the color in the wallpaper, move one chair to desk, add a mirror on the wallpaper wall to break up the wall and add depth to the room (white or deep gray frame) and use you budget and add new pillows to the couch with more grays and whites.

We have installed wallpaper behind glass splash backs on many occasions without any problems, the glass usually being attached by a thin beading of clear silicon applied around the inside perimeter of he glass, then fitted the day after the wallpaper install. MOST importantly the INSIDE of the glass be kept perfectly clean on install as even fingerprints will stand out

We haven't see the king parrots yet this year, but the almond trees have nuts on them now, so I suspect the king parrots will arrive any time now! We had a flock of red-tailed black cockatoos arrive temporarily , once. They were big birds, and very handsome. We get the white cockatoos and the galahs. We also have grass parrots, in their shades of green, who land on the grass and almost disappear from view, until they move .
