Comments (6)I was searching for a matching chair to use in my living room and I found your page displaying the same sofa that I have! I purchased this early last year and it stayed wrapped up for months until my construction was done. I really like how you're already tying in the neutrals together. This sofa is so versatile, I have already done an updated xmas scheme and I am about to change around it for spring. So I would say if you must tie in together more than use a solid pillow or two, and or solid throw in either color....See MoreCan't decide on dining chair colours!
Comments (7)That's an interesting dilemma. I would be inclined to go with the dark grey chairs because: - the chairs will be under the table surface most of the time, so it shouldn't be "too dark" when combined with the dark grey sofa; - the dark grey should tie in well with the sofa; and - the dark grey will provide a nicer contrast with the concrete table surface. Does the store you're purchasing from have a returns policy? If you explained your dilemma, they may allow you to take one of each colour home to see which colour works best in the space. Alternatively, can you go to the store which stocks the table, see what other chairs they have in the showroom and see if there are some light grey and dark grey variations that you can try in the store?...See MoreAdvice on gates
Comments (8)Gioenne - yes, that's what we were thinking for the timber option. Maybe slightly narrower slats. Do you think it would look too modern? As for budget, $2000 maybe? Hadn't considered the concerte height/thing. Now you mention it, would love to change all the concrete but I know aggregate is expensive. Not a big fan of laser cut or vertical slats. The first I feel is too modern. The later, a bit dated! I'm usually really good with design decisions but this is doing my head in a bit!...See MoreFloor colour advice
Comments (10)Hi Lizzy, As much as I love the grey-toned floors, they've been quite on trend and will date. And they'll be around for a lot longer than your table. I would go a mid brown, probably like your 1940s floorboards would be (Tassie Oak, though probably darker than new Tassie Oak boards). Even if you didn't have the existing flooring to consider, I wouldn't go too matchy matchy with your table, it might all look too heavy. A nice warm honey brown (not reddish, not chocolate) should work nicely and be versatile over time. In any case rugs in sisal etc are not only hard wearing and family friendly and relatively affordable, they'd look lovely with your tan/navy colour scheme....See MoreMilray Park
