EXTERIOR PAINT COLOURS
Comments (18)Light fascia, a not quite white, but very light colour that matches the yellow house - maybe the colour on the knobs on the platform. Same light colour for the posts & rails of the deck for all except the very top hand rail leave that grey. Like the first picture in the comments. Paint the end board on the bottom stair platform the same colour as the house. Grey stairs perhaps. Leave knobs light....See MoreNeed help with exterior paint colours
Comments (14)Hi Jenna, Have a look at Colorbond Evening Haze instead of Dune. If you go to a Masters store you can pick up The Wattyl Exterior Colour Solagard Brochure. When you open it up on one side of the colour chip centre page you will see the colours Monument, Surfmist and Evening Haze - this is the "Cool" colours side the other side where Dune is placed is the "Warm" colour side. When choosing colours try to stay with cool or warm tones to create a harmonious look....See Moreexterior paint colours to complement Ironstone coloured fence
Comments (13)@dreamer yes I was thinking a simple timber balustrade would look better than a more modern one. we are planing on putting a covered deck off the back with a similar balustrade too. @fianou Luca I love fixed upper. They were the reason we bought this house as I could see the potential. it is much harder than it looks go bring a look all together. I was contemplating painting the brick lighter like a wash but to scared to vomit incase it looks terrible and it is an expensive job to do. I was even thinking of putting shutters on the windows downstairs to give the front some texture...See MoreHelp us choose an exterior paint colour - 80's brick bungalow
Comments (6)I look at the first picture , and the most noticeable thing ( in a good way ) is the letterbox -- its an offwhite by the looks of it . So I'd do all the trim in that , and it even works with the roof ( sort of ) . The garage door is okay as it is -- the lighter tones elsewhere will balance that IMO . Ideally , I'd look at changing the garage door to a cedar timber at some stage -- again that would work with the roof , bricks , trim , etc . Probably just me , but I'm with you about going darker -- it may look 'dingy' , but none of them seem a fit with the roof IMO . Even something like surfmist ( off-white with a slight blue tinge ) doesn't gel in my mind . If you had the budget , and did want to look more modern , THEN maybe go a charcoal like monument , BUT with the cedar ( or cedar stained ) garage door , and 15 or so 40x40 battens , again cedar stained , basically the length of the 3 right side poles , so there's still that 2 metres or so in the middle that is 'open' . The cedar door on the left , and battens on the right , will visually look reasonably balanced and modern , without being too symetrical . The downside is it will cut down the light a bit , so depends if thats worth more than looking modern ....See MoreShannon Lynam
