Lindy, Why dont you do a computer image of the outside of your home like you can do with digital decorator and play with some schemes. You would instantly know if you like it or not!! Otherwise as Luke suggested, you need to decide if you want to contrast or blend?? I would certainly start off with a blend, as changing it to a deeper colour later would be far easier than trying to go back to a lighter colour if you decide you don't like it. Deep Ocean can look stunning with Jarrah but now that you have Monument I think you really need to stick to Windspray if your window frames are that colour otherwise I feel you will be introducing too many colours and you will spoil the elegant look of the home. Both colours would look good with the flooring you plan Is the brick wall staying? The darker shade would balance the strength of the brick colour The white kitchen will make the whole room blend together as it will 'clean' the colours consider how you intend to decorate the area - is the green going to feature heavily elsewhere? (like living spaces?)

Actually....I have one more white paint question everyone if you don’t mind! We will be using terrazzo tiles in the bathroom (off white base with Carrara marble chips) and white textured subway tiles. I had planned to paint the remaining sections of wall white too but now I’m on this white paint odyssey I’m wondering if it’s going to work or if I’d be better to go with a contrasting colour instead. If I do paint with white, should I match it back with the wall tiles? The closest colour is lexicon which is obviously pretty cold/blue - the room has a large east facing skylight but I’m concerned about it feeling a bit sterile...appreciate your thoughts! I like the darker charcoal and white , if repainting make sure it is a nice deep charcoal , NOT a dark grey -- as gwyn says , why be ordinary ? I'll offer 2 thoughts though -- the first would be a bit more white , such as the terrace railtop , and maybe a small 'sculpture panel' on the main wall ( it looks like there is one on the end wall ? ) . Easy to do . Option 2 and 2a is not quite so easy , and may not suit the neighbourhood , but 2 more authentic colour options -- Scandinavian Red is what I would call Barn Red -- with the white highlights that looks the part ! The other option on that thought track is Swedish Blue -- authentic , but not a favourite of mine , and again it may look out of place amongst the neighbours , and its too close to grey for my liking , but with crisp white highlights it can look okay . So I suppose 3 options from me haha -- slightly darker charcoal , with white highlights ; Scandinavian red with white highlights ; Swedish Blue with white highlights .
