Place white porcelain tiles inside.....and a metre outside of the new room I would lay cream rectangle pavers and it will look amazing Get rid of all the trees and just grass and place small hedges around the fence and on one side of the new room I will put a decking the same colour as the bi fold timber trimming in oak will be awesome

WOW Charlotte, Sounds like a great idea: I know the feeling of loving where you are and not finding anything to compare but busting out of the house. I suggest talking to council, making a plan that could easily be switched back to two dwellings when you need to down size: live changes very quickly as the years race by!.. so not being too adventurous with the change of layout and knocking out lots of walls. But having said that you could still have a fabulous family home. Another idea if the two homes into one is too too big, maybe a room or two could be a rental section? Check with council if sharing a laundry means it is not duel occupation and all the rigmarole that entails. Again it could be switched back to one whole house or back to the two separate dwellings..... Lots of options and I am very happy to assist with looking at the plan. Great project! Cheers Margot

in a similar situation we installed a nib wall at right angles to the shower and added a wall mounted mirror doored medicine cabinet inside the nib wall so we had to open the door to look in the mirror but it worked perfectly and you could also consider a framed mirror hung from ceiling or wall mounted frames in front of the windows

The yellow plan is better. Also because of the existing facade of home, it would be good to keep the original front room windows, and then reinstall them on the facade of your new bathroom.(Old porch) With this home, which looks like it is an Australian California bungalow, it would be a shame to take the windows out.
