Hi, I like the overall concept of the darkish grey, it suits the home. I am a colour consultant and have been working with the Dulux range for 17 years and you are on the right track with the Guild Grey. The Dulux Signature will give you a dark blue house. Another option if Simone Weil which is just a bit lighter than the Guild Grey, if you find that one too dark. Sample pots and A4 brush outs onto white cardboard are the best way to decide, because computer programs give an overall impression of the "look" but are not accurate with colour choices, you can't beat the human eye. All the best, it's going to look great.

Unless you have the money to update everything else to better complement the bricks, painting them will give you a much more updated look. Over the past 18mths I’ve been working on the front and landscape of my current house, including painting the bricks and it has made the world of difference! I’ve attached a before and after photo! Hi Brant, All colour schemes are great but i totally understand the hesitation in choosing. I'm the same with anything for myself! To choose a 'side' i would like to vote for: Exterior - the ocean blue for the weather boards and an offwhite for the window trims etc. Its a small front however since you have the white picket fence, and the trees, these will offset all the dark colouring on the house. Make sure the off white is on the creamy side rather than the grey/blue side or it will just be more blue/grey looking against the dark ocean blue. But then that depends on the look you want in the end. :) Interior - I'm really not a fan of painting brown, if the skirtings are wood and you're just varnishing or oiling them, then ok but not paint. You could use the same off-white for the skirtings and door trims, and a blue-toned grey for the walls. It will be like having a paler version of your outside colour-scheme and very subtly tie them together. Don't forget buying sample pots and painting on large board to get an idea of how it will look on a larger scale is also a great help. If you paint two colours on one board its better to have them meet rather than leave a gap between them. The slightest suggestion of another colour can change how you view the ones you're trying to decide between. Best of luck in your final decision. Carol

I assume you are going to be living there , and want it habitable and even be able to show it off with pride in time , but I'd actually look at it differently . First step would be waterblast or chemically clean the outside , and see what you have . One window looks like it is rotting , the same with that front entrance deck . just do the basics to get it watertight and safe ( as in not twisting your ankle ) . Although it seems backwards , I'd then pull down the fences and rip up the old overgrown plants , there even looks like a concrete wall or something there -- either clean and tidy it , or get a digger and remove it . I'd probably spray the grass with a powerful killer spray , and rotary hoe everything ( the grass clumps etc ) , let it decompose and add new grass seed . Then add a new fence , 3 or 4 larger plants if you can get them , at least 1 garden with a mix of plants that add variety , but also thrive in your area ( so maybe grasses and flaxes and cactus and red leaves and yellow and green ) . Maybe some rocks or bark . THEN you replace and repair and tidy inside and out , and after all that you paint . Look at local places , and see what works , what suits , what looks old , what looks trendy . Grey to me is not only boring , but also trendy , so it will date ( although arguably its that boring no-one will care haha ) . So like others , a modernish blue , green , yellow may work -- or what about 'flipping' things , and go mainly white but with the windows and doors and gutters in burgundy or orange or blue or green or yellow ? That way , you can go bright and get the Wow , but its only 2% or 5% of the house , so its small patches of Wow ! Good luck !
