Our kitchen is semi-open-plan to one end of our long, single-storey house, with the pantry coming out as a natural divider to the other end of the house. (We're just now improving it with cupboards & bench, so currently our "pantry" is all over the dining table and elsewhere. :) )

I have loved our deep leather lounge for the same reasons that many have stated above. You literally "lounge" and when I had a shoulder operation it was the perfect bed for recuperation, giving my shoulder support while, at the same time, giving me a comfortable and easy sleep. However, as I have aged, and also due to my small stature, I am finding that my back begins to ache because the back of the lounge does not support my back firmly enough and my feet don't touch the ground. I am now looking at a smaller, upright and supportive type of lounge. I do have a couple of chairs that fit this but it means that I am not sitting cuddled up to my husband.

HI Kath, Yes the larger lounge needs to be moved in front of the blind and .8M out from it. (you need .8-1.5 meters walkway space between any objects and any less looks cluttered) The 2 seater, needs to be moved 90 degrees to touch, almost, the 3 seater and facing the fireplace. Position or purchase a new square coffee table to fill the void this will create and a matching one in the large space facing the TV. Move the TV Cabinet, which absolutely is too large for the niche, to the large wall. Decorating is about matching shapes and proportions. Pop it all above a rug that sits under the entire lounge suite. You also need two artworks of the same size for either side of the fireplace. As a customised artwork specialist, I would suggest, contemporary styled collages in a your natural palette with accents of red and a green accent. Collages would add much needed texture to your space. Large frames are also required in a metal to match your fireplace. Keeping the colour palette simple, like I've done here, is the key.

Hi there I would try it against the long wall with the TV mounted on a wall bracket on the bathroom wall, this would mean you could watch it from all 3 spaces Alfesco/Living/Kitchen. It would also be more comfortable for anyone sleeping over.
