Hi June, can you tell us a bit more about whats going on outside of the window, is there a pretty courtyard or are you not on the ground level? any ideas of what it might have been previously, has something been converted? whats on the other side of the wall to the left of the window, are the walls brick or framed timber, are you able/interested in making structural changes (for example installing a sky light or converting to a door or reclaiming the space from the other side of the wall or giving it back to what ever is on the other side to make that space larger etc..) or just looking for ideas to utilise the space as is? thank you, with a bit more info Ill put my thinking cap on. Emily, with being a renter, I'd definitely check Pinterest for temporary solutions. I've seen DIYs where you can starch fabric to walls with an iron. Also try temporary wall paper/decals, but I'd test a small area first. Cabinet makers or even yourself would be able to create a flush vanity without attaching it to the wall. Plywood, especially hoop pine, has received a lot of traction. It really gives a clean, organic look that you could have custom cut to fit in the area. You could also use it on the wall – it could be stained, left natural, or painted for a feature. Have a look at EchoPanel. It is a decorative, acoustic pinboard that would add a splash of color/design. If it is above your vanity, you could pin pictures, inspirations, etc.

As it is my own house this is my style and this is how I like it to be I don't care if you think it works or not I love it walking into these rooms actually don't make it closed in a photo can only take you so far it makes them much more modern and daring I like clean lines nothing to busy and I hate pops of color so please remember this is for me not your self It's not for everyone I totally get that But that's the best part about "houzz" there is something for everyone " keep it positive people "

The roller blind with sheer curtains will give a soft look and block out the light while you sleep. The floor to ceiling curtains probably won't look as nice due to your small space and the cornice so just above the window and a little wider than the window to make it look larger. The bed head either upholstered or timber needs to be light in colour so it doesn't dominate the room (the timber will be easier to clean) The design of the bedside tables depend on what you use them for but don't have too many items stored on them. The light also depends what you use it for (needs to be more direct if you use it to read). The addition of a large mirror will add the illusion of space and luxury. As you have a large bed in a smaller room just make sure the linen is not dominating the whole room. Good luck :)
