Help with TV unit and cushions on sofa
Comments (4)What about choosing a floor lamp to go in the right hand corner instead of it being on the tv unit? I'd say it would create a bit of glare if watching tv with it being there so that's my reasoning, I'm also a bit of a symmetry freak and it looks a bit unbalanced.. If it's an informal space where the kids hang out why not some bright accessories? The colours in the artwork could be a starting point- aquas/ lime green etc. maybe some chevron or bold pattern on the cushions?...See MoreHelp with a decor colour scheme?
Comments (9)May I suggest trying to work with that peach colour instead, Teaming pastel and darker colours is right on trend. The peach you have is not so bad, and can look quite modern while still being feminine. It doesn't have to clash, your sodas may be described brown, but I do see an undertone of red, so perhaps Rhys mushroom colours would go well. I suggest incorporating the wall colour in the form of scatter cushions,or a throw, and a geometric, large scale rug with both hi and low chroma colours, meaning pastels or lint tones or shades, and darker ones too. The green you have is a great example, that darker scale green and the peach works, just bridge the colour gap, by bringing in a pillow with the peach and green, more common than you may think, and a brown and peach, with another colour to round out your scheme. I'd go a mustard or tan, to lighten the brown. A huge home made canvas with abstract aft in sample pots using these colours too, to block the wall and bring something of the light scale onto that table, like a bowl of decor, timber balls, three reels, candlesticks, even a stack of mags with the top one featuring these tones. It will look intentional, and perhaps yu could even see yourself working with it later on! ;)...See MoreHelp with colour scheme. Too much grey?
Comments (12)It is definitely not too much grey! If you offset this with the white walls and other white/oak features. Your best bet is to mix the shades of grey you are choosing. Try not select the exact same greys for each selection. Play around a little bit with the grey tones to add depth to your space. Or even add in a few bolder black items or coloured items to offset this if you are too worried. Comments (32)Debbie, if you don't need a lamp for reading then don't bother. I think if you can find a taller plant stand and place a taller plant (fiddle fig?) in it, then place it behind your current plant, that's all the height you might want in the corner. A fig would work well as it gets along fine in indirect sunlight. Your coffee table is perfect! Don't change it....See Moretorneyteam
