Where in the world would you most like to live?
Comments (11)I would love to live in sooo many other places, however my one favourite is the Pacific North West. Gorgeous mountains, trees, people, lakes....my kind of heaven! @chaddesdengirl, you sound like you live near me! I am in the same area you described. It is gorgeous here any time of the year, and the wineries with their autumn foliage on the vines sure look pretty. Mist coming over the mountains, is always beautiful....See MorePoll: When you had a bad day, what would you do at home?

Comments (19)Lots of good ideas here. If you do have a carpet remnant overstitched along edges, be sure to specify the thread is to MATCH the colour of carpet. I know this sounds like a no-brainer, BUT we had long and wide carpet runners made up, colour was dark brown. When we unrolled them, low and behold the overstivhers had used WHITE thread. We were stupefied. Who knew one must specify the obvious! Anyway, hubby had a brilliant idea: he used black magic marker and carefully coloured over the white. You would never know it had ever been anything but!...See MoreHow would you extend a house next to this house?
Comments (17)As an aside I'm surprised as a southern neighbour that your neighbour's extension was deemed compliant with side setbacks regulations- it's quite imposing isn't it... My advice is that your extension in terms of style should have absolutely no influence from the neighbour, rather it needs to follow and draw direct reference and cues( in regards to scaling and articulation) from exclusively you own residence, which recall from a previous post is an impressive Federation frontage. Think about the flows of the spaces - probably on balance better to keep it as per the layout you have developed, rather than flip alfresco & living - a southern alfresco space boxed in by a pool that will be even more overshadowed is less ideal - better for an alfresco to connect directly to rear yard...See Morehavingfun
