Thanks so much for your input oklouise :) Good to know Shale Grey is "pretty". We also have vert strict regulations for bushfire unfortunately. I think our location came in at BAL 29. So certain timber is definitely out of the question. And the stuff we can use will most likely be expensive of course. Thus hoping half way up the house, or part of it will at least add interest. Evening Haze and Gully are nice warm colours we hadn't yet considered. Thanks for the idea!

To Modernise this without rendering or retiling the roof I would probably recommend to go darker with the trims. My top pick as a colour consultant would be Dulux's Domino for the trim. It will be a little bolder and create a more modern contemporary feel. You can see it pictured below as the trim. Obviously this house has painted their bricks in the shade "teahouse" however it will still look much better on your 1980s "peru" colour bricks! Hi Laura, I love the idea of checking your current paint samples ... sounds like something I would do too ;) I think Dulux have a visualiser app/website where you can upload a picture - I think you can select colours from your current photo and it will give you an idea of the best colour match (which might help you determine the paint colours in your current photos) and also do your own make over by selecting colours you like and applying them to your layout - I'm not sure how accurate it is but could be worth a little play to give you a start in which direction to head in?

@Dee painted fly screen door up now. Still haven't painted concrete stairs and verandah.
