I'd love to see more images of some of the tiles you produce.

It does all depend on your wall colour and other furnishings in the room, but I'd suggest to go on the lighter side Pauline, given that there is not a great deal of contrast in your kitchen, it is best to stay monochromatic. Something like Dulux Sandy Day or Beige Royal have a warmth and depth about them but not too dark. Please ensure you look at a glass sample of the colour, as this can vary greatly from the paint sample. Good luck and be sure to let us know how you got on

Thank you everyone, your thoughtful advice was very welcome. I'm attaching a photo as its all finished. I selected Olive Reserve for the splash back and painted the wall above it the same colour. As its a big room with lots of light and a large window it doesn't dominate. The glass is so easy to keep clean and I love the way it reflects the garden and light. Have to say though some people are stunned into silence when they see it, but as the cupboards and bench tops are quite bland I knew something bright was needed

Hi Cell-U-Lite, I'm unsure where you are located, but in Australia there is product made by a company called Pillar which is an embossed frosted film which can be applied to glass. It comes in a variety of forms but the opaque white version would most likely suit your purpose in disguising the coloured glass. It is easy to apply and to remove. Alternatively, I think it would be quite inexpensive to simply have those panes replaced with clear glass to match, depending how many there are through-out the property. I hope this helps.
