Wow! Three words come to mind... ma jes tic; no six words... im pos ing! Amazing exterior! Your facade reminds me of an italianate mansion. Italians let the features of the house and the garden do the talking, and don't use too many colours. Are you patient enough to let the landscaping colour up the picture? I can see tall pencil pines framing the entrance and clipped hedges in formal arrangement. If you don't like the current colour palette (white, grey,dark grey?) then you could go the cream-sandy-tan route more in line with the italianate palette. Still let the garden do some talking, especially as your house sits high off the street so to a passer by the main view will be of the garden. Fab frontage.

MB Design - can you please explain what you mean by what you would do re: landscaping? I only ask because the front yard will be slowly changed as the years come and the backyard is currently in progress - is this what you meant - or something more? Girlguides - what's a lentil (lol - I am v. new to this!)? Is there any other colour you would recommend other than Dulux Chalk USA - I feel that white would be very stark next to the primrose and almost accentuate the colour rather than mask it... I also don't feel that white suits my house... I was thinking that Surfmist (colour bond colour) would be a good 'in between' - what do you think? Contrast colour I was thinking something along the lines of Windspray or ironstone. Would this contrast go on the guttering (where it's currently buff) or on the fascia etc? Annb - yes definitely getting timber repaired and checked all over. re: Wrought iron - I haven't really looked into height yet, but yes, I would definitely like more visibility rather than lost behind the trees! ETA - I just googled chalk USA and Basalt and they pretty much sit in between the colours already chosen so that's good haha!
