Hi there, I really like what you have there. You have many options that will require little work to make this space wok beautifully. Agree with Brilliant Ideas and Kerry - changing the mirror position and adding a hanging feature like a pendant will make a lot of difference already. From what I can guess looking at your image, even a slim table would fit better under the mirror on the other wall. In addition, you can include another hanging feature higher to make the ceiling look more interesting. E.g. 1 or 2 spotlights, hanging plants as simple as a Spanish moss. After that, is just dressing the furniture with small decor. Personally, I like clean, relaxed and easy to maintain spaces. Not sure about the correct colours, but here are some ideas for you: Light pendant to match your mirror colour and dining set style. Spanish moss can be hanged with a small hook. Minimum care required. Slim table - you can use a chest of drawers like this one... Slim table - or go for something a little different if you don't need extra storage... Check what the solvent base of the marker is ie. methylated spirits, isopropyl alcohol etc, then get some of that & blot the stain, working inwards to the centre of the area. Don't soak it as it will spread. Change the blotting cloth regularly so you're not reapplying the stain (paper towels are good for this). Try to avoid any other cleaning methods until you have at least tried this as certain products can "set" the stain.

Hi Mark This rug from Bayliss could work. I agree with many other comments made about side tables, lamps etc. however if I was you I would get the rug first & then go one step at a time from there. You can then get some darker coordinating cushions, bigger side tables etc. You art is hung too high & is too small for the area. However, as I said one step at a time. Finally, your rug should allow for the front feet of your sofas to be on it as a minimum. I suspect you might need a bigger size rug.
