If you were going to reupholster the sofas, what colouring do you like? That is a big factor in being able to help in giving you ideas, is whether you are really going to change the sofa covers, cos that fabric on them is very limiting.

When you are young, I firmly believe you should go for fun design. Plenty of time later for serious. Choose the bright yellow and have fun with your life, regards Chook.

One other thing, is the back finished the same as the rest? I'm just wondering if it's possible to remove a small bit of the lacquer on the lower back to see if you can determine the type of timber. Sometimes just seeing how the back of furniture is finished gives a clue as to how well it has been crafted. For instance if if it is not finished with same material as the rest of the piece, that is a cost saving measure and does not give the same value as if it was finished in solid timber. Thanks for asking these questions. For a bit more context I am renting the place, I don't need total privacy , no real need of blocking the heat out/in. We have the same type of blind in the rest of the house. We did remove the old curtain that were in the house but I would like to a curtain to give more life to this white wall. Vincent
