Need help with kitchen pendant
Comments (25)Hello Kelly! The drawing of your soon to be kitchen is amazing, the exposed beams add a raw element and texture to the room whilst keeping the space feel open and inviting. You mentioned you wanted to place your dining table in the opposite direction with white chairs. I get the feeling that you might like a more eclectic or scandi look, timbers and whites! The above pendants you mentioned you loved are beautiful woven baskets, however as someone else mentioned these styles will cast shadows due to their cut outs. To counteract this try using some low wattage globes (if these pendants are only decorative) - look at using downlights for task lighting. Here's some inspiration: You could try these pendants if you are fond of the timber/woven style: https://www.golights.com.au/tuukka-halonen-pilke-pendant-light-in-black-white-or-natural-birch-60cm https://www.golights.com.au/secto-design-seppho-koho-victo-pendant-light-natural-in-46cm https://www.golights.com.au/graypants-scraplight-pendant-light-moon-in-recycled-cardboard https://www.golights.com.au/herr-mandel-lampframe-pendant-light-wood-34cm https://www.golights.com.au/nordic-tales-bright-sprout-pendant-light-wood-holder-w-white-cord Or if you want to add some glass to balance the textures you could try these: https://www.golights.com.au/tom-dixon-fin-light-pendant-round-13-5cm-brown-blue-silver https://www.golights.com.au/pendant-light-metal-industrial-vintage-glass-14cm-in-black https://www.golights.com.au/sandra-lidner-selene-pendant-light-in-clear If you need help find us here: https://www.golights.com.au/ or cal us on 1300 798 220! Comments (8)thanks so much. I want to draw the attention to the champagne candy pendants and to be the feature behind the dull brown overheads. I'm thinking it's ok to mix metals. I forgot to add the canopy rangehood which will be installed behind the pendants. I hope it won't clash! My stainless steel kitchen appliances are yet to be installed....See MoreAdvice needed: modern island bench pendants
Comments (4)Hi as you say its a bit bland and needs a bit of life added to it. I think black island stools and 2 large pendants or else go with 3 smaller glass pendants. Or industrial style pendants. It depends on the look you are after and as you say keeping the yellow splash back, does determine the look and color scheme of the room! Here are a couple of ideas. Good luck!...See Moreage old question, two or three pendants over island?
Comments (13)Thanks for posting this dilemma - I am facing the same predicament! I have been stalking pendant lights over kitchen islands for about 18 months now and have noticed that there are a lot of interior designers, in new builds and online etc. who are using two pendant lights instead of the very common ''rule of three''. This is more so the case when the lights are quite distinctive or a feature. You don't want to close in the space or obstruct the line of sight... yet you do want to opt for functionality and balance. I have just sold (argggg!) my three medium solid black pendants and have opted for a ''lighter'' feeling material that are larger, to ensure they balance. sit above a 2.8m lenght bench. What did you decide to go with....See MoreAnu R
