Lindy, Why dont you do a computer image of the outside of your home like you can do with digital decorator and play with some schemes. You would instantly know if you like it or not!! Otherwise as Luke suggested, you need to decide if you want to contrast or blend?? I would certainly start off with a blend, as changing it to a deeper colour later would be far easier than trying to go back to a lighter colour if you decide you don't like it. Deep Ocean can look stunning with Jarrah but now that you have Monument I think you really need to stick to Windspray if your window frames are that colour otherwise I feel you will be introducing too many colours and you will spoil the elegant look of the home. I'd go white with the splashback so nothing detracts from the granite top being the highlight! It's lovely by the way! You could always pick up the accent colours (grey, pink, black) in your teatowels, kettle, nice vase etc. I'd actually love to see a pic once it's in.

Hi there, Depending how many tiles you have, a feature wall would be a great use for polished granite, particularly behind the vanity & mirror. With the right lighting it will have the opposite effect of small & gloomy = spacious, chic and sophisticated. Also the size of the tile can contribute to that "small" feeling but 305mm sq is large enough not to. Keeping them on the walls will also help your budget as not needing to apply a non-slip coating. If you're able to have your vanity 'floating' then continue the black all the way down which will have a great effect on the space too. Hope this helps James. Kind Regards, Carol

Hi Jay j, I still stand by this so if you are reading reviews with people reporting their own negative experiences (not hear-say), make sure they are also specifying a brand and model to check they are talking about reconstituted stone (granite) sinks and not Acrylic. Knowing the brand they are reviewing you can check from the manufacturer what they are made from as well as check the manufacturers warranty and their own assurances given about performance. When you go through reviews, it is a good idea to make sure that people are actually talking about Granite Sinks, which are made of the same type of material as Reconstituted Stone benchtops are made of, and they are not talking about coloured Solid Surface sinks made from Acrylic which do have these problems listed. Some people confuse the two. Modern Granite Sinks do not tend to have the staining, chipping, and cracking problems that are inherent with Acrylic Sinks. Some people mistakenly think the Acrylic sinks that were popular in the 1980s and 90s, plus still used in today Acrylic Solid Surface benchtops are the same material as today’s Granite sinks; but they are totally different.
