Dazed and confused on kitchen renovation
Comments (12)Here is a suggestion for bringing more light into the kitchen without any major renovations. You could install one or two illume Shaftless Skylight Systems? http://www.kimprod.com.au/illume/illume_skylight.html It is basically a very large downlight powered by a little solar panel on your roof. They are simple to install and are amazing. I have one in each of my bathrooms and my mum has two down her hallway. They are instant solar powered, so if it is a cloudy they will be dim, if it is a bright they will be bright, at night they will not be on at all. You can even tell when a bird flies overhead. They aren't super expensive and will change your world. Good Luck...See MoreTiny ensuite renovation
Comments (32)Such great ideas from everyone. The smaller the space, the more creative you need to be. A friend of mine has a tiny ensuite which she turned into a "wet room" and some of her Reno ideas are: Back-to-wall toilet (less space, easy to clean), In-wall (cavity) cabinet, Wall hung sink with a built in side shelf (with lovely chrome trap/plumbing). You do have to waterproof the ENTIRE room to have a wet room but don't need a shower door. She also tiled about 30cms outside the ensuite door (in the bedroom area) to save the bedroom floor from any water damage which turned out to be a great idea. Good luck with the Reno and I hope you post your "after" pics....See MoreBefore and after – Hamptons kitchen
Comments (7)Re purposing the space making it work harder. Lovely windows. Pot drawers work so much better. Fresh and bright. We replaced our pine doors to alabaster shaker style cabinetry with matching walls and ceiling. Rebuilt pantry with sliding door with sensor light and an island bench with drawers each side. Worth the investment of bespoke cabinetry....See More80s facade update ideas please!
Comments (46)Jessica Craig, I thought you might like to know this. When my daughter was a baby and I took her for swimming lessons, I met another wonderful Mum Wendy and her daughter, Sophie. Sophie's father had recently passed away and so Wendy was trying to adjust to the hand that fate had dealt her. They had not long purchased their house too. We have remained very close all these years and I can report that both Soph and Wendy are a force to be reckoned with. Sophie (now 15) is a talented singer, is doing well at school and has oodles of personality. Wendy is studying online and working towards fulfilling her dream of one day writing a children's book. The house has been renovated and is a very warm and welcoming home. It has not always been an easy road as single mum for Wendy, but it continues to get richer as the years move by. I hope that in some of your harder moments, this may bring some small level of comfort to you....See Moreoklouise
