New build, and need help with bathroom layout
Comments (10)Hi Katie. I've just finished a reno in a bathroom approximately this size. it looks like the toilet is currently on an exterior wall. if this is the case it can be costly - or not possible to relocate the plumbing. Yes, I know cisterns can be installed in the wall. My plumbers are wary of these ....try fixing a fault without cutting a hole - or holes - in the wall! If you are restricted to the outside wall, I would install a sliding door (gives you more space in the actual room). Leaving the bath and shower where they are saves $$$. if you move the toilet further to the left and install a wall-hung vanity under the window, you could also add a 'half-wall' to the toilet area for privacy. (Wall-hung vanities open the room up. This plan would give you great space on the left hand wall for storage and/or laundry hampers, You could of course switch the bath to the opposite wall, and move the toilet to the current bath area. Moving the door to the right AND installing a slider, would allow this. (BTW I just installed a 1700 bath - 1500's are available too.) Hope this is not too unclear! Enjoy the process!....See MoreBest bathroom layout - 3.6m x 1.9m
Comments (14)Hi I have a 3.6m x 1.8m ensuite bathroom. The entrance from bedroom to bathroom is centred on the long wall. I would like a single shower and built in bath tub with a single basin. Please help me with the layout....See Moresmall bathroom layout ideasp
Comments (9)IMO, Adding a full-length mirror next to the bathroom door is an excellent idea and not strange at all. In fact, it's a practical addition that can make the bathroom feel more spacious while also providing a convenient spot for checking outfits or doing hair and makeup. I agree with @dreamer's suggestion that a walk-in wet room is a great option for combining a bathtub and shower in one area. If space is limited, a shower over the bath can also be a functional solution. As the bathroom will be used by three teenage girls, it may be a good idea to consider a bigger vanity with a double basin to make it more convenient and accessible for them. This can help reduce delays in the morning rush to get ready for the day....See MoreSuggestions to wardrobe and bathroom layout
Comments (14)based on assumed dimensions my first suggestion would be to rearrange the new stairs (and that will possibly impact the original stairs which you say are already uncomfortable so might also be worth altering) there's more spacious kids' bedrooms with generous biws, desks and separate powder and shower rooms with storage space (towels, vacuum etc or you might like to include an upstairs washer and dryer and a kitchenette in the sitting room for late night snacks or early morning coffee) but i've reduced the size of the master bedroom in favour of an alternate ensuite and more generous wiw and dressing area with access to the retreat without having to go through teh master bedrooms and with more accurate dimensions and correct location of the angled wall it may also be possible to enlarge the retreat and rear balcony by pushing the kids bedrooms to the east and i've left off the extra front balcony in favour of a bigger dual access front balcony but always depends on accurate dimensions and budget...See Moredreamer
