Update lounge room
Comments (11)I have an almost exact room. I think the window brightness is what makes everything else seem dark, seemingly odd to say so, but because of it's glare and contrast the room is not getting the right sunlight. Diffusing the light works to help everything seem brighter, and if you place a mirror in the room, place it adjacent to the light source to spread it around rather than blind you. Reflecting light works best indirectly. I would recommend positioning the piano next to the Porch door, and a bookcase next to the French doors, which will house not only books and pictures but also your tv. So your sofa is adjacent to the beautiful bay window, centered, and place a floor rug to define the room and bring in the walls, place a coffee table relative to the sofa, perhaps an upholstered ottoman to double as a coffee table. This way the window seat becomes a reading nook and is part of the lounge furniture and the focus is opposite the window. With the mirror either above the piano or the sofa. Good luck ....See MoreNeed help with lounge room
Comments (8)we have a dark chocolate brown carpet and the same colour walls as what you have got and we have always had dark lounges, just recently we have brought cream leather lounges and we could not believe what a difference it has made, it fully lifted the whole lounge room, we have still got dark brown/black leather chairs that are around our dinning room table that sometimes get used in the lounge as well and it looks awesome, we use black and cream cushions on the lounges and same for the decorations apart from a big picture hanging on one wall that is a deep red colour and it has trees etc...I trust this helps and good luck!...See MoreLounge room in new house
Comments (33)Hi all, we have spent winter up north and now on the never ending task of updating our home. Flooring still not changed at this point waiting on tradesmen for ensuite and kitchen update. I have attached photos of the lounge and family/kitchen. Would like some help re colour/fabric for a window seat on the bay window. I did take away all curtains and blinds have been installed. Kitchen cupboards are a salmon colour and the cabinets can still be used with new doors and side panels replaced. I have always been a lover of white kitchens but not sure of colour for splaceback/tiles/bench. One minute I have made up my mind to have wood on all floors except lounge and bedrooms then someone says what is wrong with your tiles it's a waste of money and a lot of work! I am not sure that a white kitchen would go with the current tiles . Any advise would be more than welcome. Comments (0)Can anyone tell me what the actual difference is between a "living" room and a "family" room? Also is a "lounge" room just another name for either one of the above? Thanks...See MoreKate
