Exterior Paint Design Dilemma

NEED HELP CHOOSING FACADE COLOUR

Hi guys

It’s really hard to decide what the best colour for my house. My furnitures are most in white and oak natural colours. But I was thinking to change the furniture to more modern contemporary in the future. Could you please give me an idea what is the best colour for the facade? Thank you

have you considered a timber look garage door...the writing is too small to read the colours

Hi oklouise thank you for the comment. I was thinking to do a timber look for garage door and main door. But I just worried it’ll look too much. So I just leave a timber look for my main door.

You can get any colour paint you like in any strength - 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 or full - its only a colour, so they will mix it to your request. Have you made yourselves a colour board? if not, you will need to get all your selection colours together and then go to bunnings or a paint shop and get some sample pots of the colours you are debating. (yes it will cost to get sample pots, but seriously you need to do it - and get the varying strengths in the same colour as well). If you are worried about the render colour marking, go the 1/2 strength on the render and 1/4 on the mouldings. Your Wow factor will come with your varying textures - brickwork/render and trims/timber doors, and the wrought iron. I'm guessing you have exterior lighting? some beautiful exterior lights will be the icing on the cake.

I would hold off repainting until the front yard is done, the driveway and the lawn. It will look entirely different against the fresh green of a lawn! I personally like that colour, it's a nice change from all the greys around.. It's warm and inviting and I think it balances well with your garage door. And by the way terracotta and similar hues are coming back in fashion! .

Actually, that's not correct. Just being in the hills does not "push up" your BAL rating. Every property on the "pink map" (which includes, but is no longer limited to, all homes in the Hills) requires a BAL assessment to determine the rating & this is subject to a number of factors. Primarily proximity to trees but the type of vegetation & topography (if it's a slopping site etc) will also impact. There are many hills homes that will receive a lower BAL rating than some suburban homes located next to a nature reserve for example. You need to get advice from appropriately qualified professionals if planning to renovate & ensure you have the correct approvals in place. I'm with oklouise -- do both doors in timber . It won't be too much , but heres what I would do to guarantee that -- the pillar I would do in a lighter coloured stacked stone -- a schist or similar . real or manufactured , but not too 'planned' or even . That brings in the timber and stone and the natural elements , but importantly it has the 2 tones and adds interest .

The rest -- It is a bit dependent on roof colour , buts here's a basic idea . Go quite light colour on the main render -- maybe a light surfmist or similar . Then what is mid-grey on the illustrations , go a mid steely blue grey ; that dark panel go a lighter charcoal , unless your roof is a lighter charcoal -- in that case , I'd go a darker charcoal for the contrast .
