Mm. Sure. Just make sure you've allowed enough room, once it's in its in but 10 cm is maybe ok. I like your taste. I always give a little test before I buy anything myself. There's so much to choose from, it does get confusing. In saying that, I think the copper will out date quick. I'm sure your choice in the end will be great.

Thanks all. I love Cool, Calm, Collected - it's only a suburb away from where I live... their prices are normally $$$, but they have beautiful stuff. I actually already have that West Elm light fitting in my stair case! (How embarrassing) - I love it (and they actually have it in brass in the USA but not here). I'm going to throw another opinion into the mix. I think the combination of Black and Brass is timeless. I encourage my clients to concentrate less on trends and more on what they really love, this transcends time. Brass can also be introduced into the kitchen with lighting, sinks, tapware and even stools and accessories to create a connection between elements.

Where are they to be attached? I too was thinking lanterns suit a verandah but are those log walls? Even if the lanterns can be installed I'm not sure they'd look right? So I'm thinking maybe bunkers.
