My other bush of Rhodys, taken today, I'm on top of the steps, it's about 6 ft. I've cut them back each year, they were huge when I moved in. Not good to have huge bushes near the house if there's a bushfire. The first bush has finished flowering. It's a hotter pink.

We have had the same dilemma with lighter multi colour bricks. We used an interior designer to help.... We painted large sheets of cardboard with colour and put them against the brick... Bought sample pots of colours as cheaper than making big mistake... Monument was recommended against our Sandstone & red/brown fleck bricks... No blue in sight. Other idea is to match a colour in your brick to draw out that colour as per the neighbourhood photo - take a brick to paint store to match. We will use red in brick as feature colour on garden walls.

I would grab a bunch of colourbond swaths from bunnings in popular colours (Monument, surfmist, classic cream , evening haze, paper bark etc). Then walk around the neighbourhood (or whereever new developments are cropping up) and see what schemes you like that have red brick incorporated into to them. When you see one you like see if you can match it to your swaths :) I personally like a mix of a light browny cream(not sure of the colour) with monument and red brick - it looks practical (not too glary or hard to keep clean) and timeless.

​While the ironstone for the window trim would fade into the background more than the surfmist, will you also be painting the inside of the window trims (I am assuming you are painting them vs replacing all windows)? You may want to consider how it looks from the inside too, especially for any windows without window coverings. We have 1980s bronze aluminium windows and while it fades against our brickwork, from the interior it really stands out against our white architraves and walls for the windows without shutters. Whatever you do you window and door trims in make sure your crimsafe is the same.
