Brushed brass taps for the kitchen sink

Need to know the pros and cons to have a brass finished tap for the kitchen sink
I am also thinking of having brass cabinet handles and knobs

The pros can be that brushed brass finish is pretty versatile, it can match with many different styles no matter it's contemporary or classic. The gold colour can also add a bit of warmth and elegance to the kitchen.

The cons can be that it is not easy to find brass taps, handles and other accessories without colour difference for different brands or ranges. So I think it's better to stick with the brand you have chosen and confirm the tone of brass before you buy. Just remember that good quality tapware is EXPENSIVE and so is the plumber to change out the tap so go for the best you can afford - tapware will either make or break the look you're going for in terms of big ticket items. But go for what you want - infact take a sample of your benchtop and put it next to the tap and a stainless steel appliance in the Ikea showroom and have a look to decide for yourself - it all depends on personal taste.

Black can look good dependant on the style, I personally think its the style that goes out rather than the colour i.e corner baths and showers, I cant stand them and they look so dated but use to be the "IN" thing. Like orange shiny wood walls with shag carpet, some things you just know wont stick around. As for this year apparently its about the warm, weathered metals. Apparently shiny metals and chrome are on the out too.
