HELP!! Bedroom Ideas please...
Comments (7)Yes black and white can be very classy and pretty. I do suggest you add a pop of another colour (such as yellow) or else you might get tired of everything being black and white. I had a quick look on Google for black and white bedrooms and there are lots of inspiring photos to see there. You could add the pop of colour with the curtains, cushions on the bed, a rug on the floor, a lamp shade, art work hanging on the walls, some cute photo frames or a bunch of pretty flowers in a coloured vase. There are lots of easy ways to add colour to a room. Have a look on Google yourself or on the Houzz web site and get some ideas. Wishing you lots of luck and have fun decorating....See MoreWhat should I do with an ugly curved brick wall?
Comments (71)I love the drama of the brick wall and it is a major design feature of the house... however, there is a LOT of exposed brick with the fireplace surround also being exposed and you have mentioned you dont like the colour. Have you thought about covering up the other walls rather than this one, to tone down the brick work? I just wonder if you hate the amount of brick and you are taking it out on this wall because that's where it is concentrated while overlooking the rest of the house? Just food for thought... more food for thought. BTW I love the idea of hanging plants (though watering them might be a pain), I love the idea of a dramatic feature pendant and I also love the idea of the rug, all will soften or harmonise the drama. www.billyhoostudio.com...See Moredecoration ideas, please
Comments (13)I'd 'strip' things back even more , and my first step would be to get some stain and redo the buffet in a browner shade -- I'll be blunt , as it is something looks wrong . It is a modern shade on an older design , the square handles do nothing for the look , and the doors look like they are from a different tree to the drawers . Look at the chairs you are getting , and the legs look like they are meant to be there -- a warm brown that compliments the white . Then compare the leg tone to your buffet , and the buffet looks cold and almost a green tone . So you've 'warmed' that up , put your white vases on it , see how the red items look -- BUT the red and the light blue clash IMO , so move the blues to another room . There looks to be an attractive mirror in one shot , maybe add 1 bulbus white round vase/bowl with some wispy dried grasses and twigs , a 30 x 30 piece of art with red tones further along the wall -- go with mainly browns and whites but some red to lift the spirit ....See MoreHelp! Comments (39)Hi Laura, I also love your inspiration photo. I think you're on the right track for what you want. It looks like an early summer image due to the jacaranda flowering so I would try and get a bit more colour in the planting and spread your flowering season to be as long as you can by choosing winter, spring and summer flowering plants. It appears that you have the ability to build one side of the garden up as you have a foudation below the fence. You shouldn't build it up in front of the actual fence as it will eventually rust out. If you do build it up in part, you could build seating into this to make two uses out of the retaining. You could intersperse this with the cortens to reduce the cost as that wont work so well for seating. Recycled timber could do the job and maybe mix with some gabions, which you can do on the cheap yourself if you have a source of rubble or stones. C....See MoreUser
