I think white walls would make the jarrah a feature, maybe antique white

Hi rachemacdonald Natural white is one of my favourite interior whites. It's not too creamy but still warm and not cold and sterile. Use low sheen on walls. Use half strength on the ceilings in a flat finish. (The ceiling acts as a reflector to bounce light around the room.) The trims - arch, skirts, windows and doors can be half strength in a satin finish. This will modernise the space and make it feel more spacious. Best wishes.

Timber and brick house built in the 70’s. All exterior trims originally painted Mission Brown plus colorbond on garage doors. Updated in the 90’s repainted with lighter sand colour to match bricks. Another paint job required for 2018... what paint colour would suit modern ideas? Fascias have been replaced and undercoated. Any ideas or suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks

Don't cover the bricks with bagging, if there is no need. Once the brick has been covered there is no turning back. As Kate has suggested, square up the verandah supports, with timber. Then landscape, landscape, and landscape.
