The layout of the kitchen is a galley with the island oriented parallel to the living room. The kitchen is lit with a mixture of concealed lighting, integrated track lighting with pendants and recessed downlights.

A tiny 65m site with only 3m of internal width posed some interesting design challenges.
The Victorian terrace façade will have a loving touch up, however entering through the front door; a new kitchen has been inserted into the middle of the plan, before stepping up into a light filled new living room. Large timber bifold doors open out onto a timber deck and extend the living area into the compact courtyard. A simple green wall adds a punctuation mark of colour to the space.
A two-storey light well, pulls natural light into the heart of the ground and first floor plan, with an operable skylight allowing stack ventilation to keep the interiors cool through the Summer months. The open plan design and simple detailing give the impression of a much larger space on a very tight urban site.

The kitchen is finished in edge-cut white oiled plywood, deep blue furniture linoleum with kitchen storage and pantry under the extension. The door fronts are slatted edge-cut white oiled plywood with an open see through section for the pantry area.

The small kitchen also has a thoroughfare to the exterior, and a bathroom. Very busy indeed!

A subtle industrial feel has been achieved in this kitchen with a stainless steel worktop that seamlessly incorporates a gas hobs. Draws are made from Parapan acrylic in a light grey high gloss finish, keeping the entire look, fresh and bright. We supplied bespoke built-in shelving in a walnut veneer finish, providing a great contrast to the bright walls and cleverly highlighting the original arch.
