Traditional Kitchen with a Peninsula Design Ideas

The Brief This Worthing client sought a stylish upgrade on their previous kitchen, swapping an old monochrome kitchen for something a little more colourful. As well as a new theme, it was also up to designer Phil to incorporate a traditional element to match the style of this property, incorporating useful storage options. This client was also looking for a full flooring improvement which would help to integrate a dining and seating area into this vast space. Design Elements To suit the space designer Phil has created a great layout which incorporates all the elements of this project brief, with the bulk of amenities centred around a range cooker. Extra storage is provided in tall units that run all the way towards the dining and living area of this property. The theme is comprised of Virginia shaker furniture from British supplier Mereway in colours sea mist and pebble grey. Traditional features have been included in this project in the form of a butler style sink and herringbone flooring from Karndean. The flooring has been fitted by our expert team, and runs throughout this whole space to create a luxurious feel. The chimney breast surrounding the range looks original, but has been built out by our installation team to add a further traditional element. Phil has added further storage either side of the range in the form of discrete cabinetry. Special Inclusions A key part of this design was creating a communal feel in the kitchen. To accomplish this, great care has been taken to incorporate the seating and dining area into the design making the vast room feel connected. To add to this element a peninsula island has been included with space for three to sit. Around the kitchen, solid quartz surfaces have been opted for, with Silestone’s lusso finish nicely complimenting the theme of the space. Project Highlight To integrate the required storage, designer Phil has used a number of clever solutions to provide organised and maximised storage space. An impressive pantry is built into tall units, with corner units and a pull out pantry also in the design. Feature end unit storage provides a nice place to store decorative cook books. The End Result The end result is a kitchen and dining space the ticks all boxes. A great design incorporates the traditional features, storage requirements and extra inclusions this client desired to create a wonderful kitchen space. We’re delighted to be able to show this, our latest project in Welwyn Garden City. More than ever, we need our homes to do so much. We want the kitchens functional and beautiful, the living areas comfortable yet practical with plenty of storage - and when it’s open plan living, like this one, we want the spaces to connect in a stylish and individual way. Choosing a supplier that creates hand built, bespoke cabinets and fitted furniture is the very best way to ensure all boxes are ticked! In this project the kitchen and living areas have been hand built in a classic Shaker style which is sure to stand the test of time but with some lovely contemporary touches. The mirror splashback, in the kitchen, allows the natural light to bounce around the kitchen and the copper accents are bright and stylish and keep the whole look current. The pendants are from tom Dixon @tom_dixon11. The cabinets are hand painted in F&B’s downpipe which is a favourite, and for good reason. It contrasts beautifully with their chalky Wimbourne White and, in an open plan living situation like this, it sets the kitchen area apart from living area. At Planet we love combining two finishes. Here, the Corian worktop in Vanilla sits beautifully with the Solid oak Breakfast bar which in itself is great with a wooden floor. The colours and finishes continue into the Living Room which unifies the whole look. The cupboards and shelving are painted in Wimbourne White with accents of the Downpipe on the back panels of the shelving. A drinks cabinet has become a popular addition to our projects, and no wonder! It’s a stylish and fun addition to the room. With doors closed it blends perfectly with the run of storage cupboards and open – no detail has been overlooked. It has integrated lighting and the worktop is the same Vanilla Corian as the kitchen. To complete the drinks cupboard a scalloped oak wine rack below has been hand built by our skilled craftsmen.

Dans cet appartement, l’objectif était de transformer une cuisine fermée et peu fonctionnelle en un espace lumineux et chaleureux, ouvert sur la pièce de vie. Le projet s’appuie sur une palette douce associant façades d'un bleu- vert apaisant, le bois naturel et sol graphique pour apporter caractère et rythme à l’espace. Les niches en chêne viennent structurer la composition et créer des espaces d’exposition pour les objets du quotidien. Une cuisine pensée comme un véritable lieu de vie, à la fois fonctionnel et convivial.

Durch das Entfernen der Wand zum Wohnbereich ist eine halboffene Küche entstanden. Die Höhe des Fensters wurde auf die Höhe der Küche angepassst. Die Fensterflächen im Essbereich wurden bis zum Bodem geführt, um mehr Licht in den Raum zu bekommen.

St. George's Terrace is our luxurious renovation of a grand, Grade II Listed garden apartment in the centre of Primrose Hill village, North London. Meticulously renovated after 40 years in the same hands, we reinstated the grand salon, kitchen and dining room - added a Crittall style breakfast room, and dug out additional space at basement level to form a third bedroom and second bathroom.

Modern und unkonventionell zugleich wurde eine Wand nahezu vollständig mit Schränken versehen, in denen auch die hoch eingebauten Küchen-Elektrogeräte ihren Platz finden. Auch hier dominieren die hellen und grifflosen Schränke, die Elektrogeräte glänzen in Schwarz und Chrom äußerst stilvoll.

Les clients, souhaitaient une nouvelle implantation pour s'affranchir de la table qui trônait au milieu de la cuisine depuis toujours mais qui rendait compliquée la circulation et l'ouverture des meubles. De plus, un muret brisait la perspective et empêchait l’entrée de la lumière dans la pièce. Enfin, il fallait conserver la possibilité de manger à 4 dans la cuisine de façon confortable. Ainsi le muret a été supprimé pour intégrer un coin repas avec des tabourets confortables. Il permet en outre de rajouter de l’espace de plan de travail pour la préparation des repas. En plus de coin repas cela permet d'avoir beaucoup plus de plan de travail pour la préparation des repas. Le bâti contenant la hotte et le four a également été supprimé pour alléger les lignes et apporter là aussi plus d'espace. J’ai également proposé un coin thé/café afin de laisser les plans de travail dégagés. La majorité des meubles est équipée de tiroirs pour le confort, les meubles sont de grande hauteur pour plus de volume de rangement, le tout habillé d'un décor chêne authentique et de poignées vintage. Le plan de travail Rod Rockstar et la faïence colorée subliment le tout !
