Bell landscapes were delighted to be involved in another QT Hotel project.

This project comprised of 2 elements.
Our first design brief was to design feature gardens for the huge outdoor bar area. The rooftop garden was to span approximately 30mtrs on the edge of the building with Melbourne's city sky line providing a sensation backdrop.

We wanted the planting to be bold, fun and a little quirky, much like the QT brand itself, so we selected a wonderful mix of plants including Agave, Crassula, Raphiolepsis, buxus, senecio, echiverea, native viola, Cycad and more.

This plant selection provides splashes of colour, a huge range of shapes and textures and some bold structural shape for strength and detail.

The cleint brief also required that the planting be easily manageable and kept to a height of less than 1 mtr so as to not block the city view.

The second part of the project brief was to create workable vegetable gardens at the rear of the hotel rooftop for the chefs to harvest and serve to the hotel diners.
