Chinese screens are a great way to section off an area in a living room or bedroom. We've supplied several multi-panel screens in the past, both antique (with beautiful carvings and lattice work) and reproduction. They can be hinged to fold to one side when not needed, or could be fitted onto a sliding mechanism. Couple of examples shown here:

I am planning two 1200mm open shelves to be a feature between the dining and living area - 1200mm as there are two 1200mm walls they can be against when I want the area open for larger gatherings. The open shelves will have be 400 x 1200mm, and large enough to have drawers at the bottom and several shelves. On the top I am having perforated metal for an industrial style and wooded shelves to warm up the industrial side, and to display pot plants including a planned hanging feature plant.
